Wedding Featured on StyleMePretty!

Ever wonder what a wedding planner's wedding is like? One of our very own wedding planner is now married and her wedding is featured on StyleMePretty! Congratulations AMANDA+KELLY!!

"For most girls, planning a wedding is a once in a lifetime affair, but for a professional wedding planner it’s something that they do frequently. So after producing so many weddings and seen it all, what is a wedding planner’s wedding like? I would like you to meet me and my now husband Kelly. We have been dating for five years and decided to tie the knot this May. Our wedding day started out with the traditional tea ceremony which at first I was dreading because it meant I had to wake up early. However, I am so glad that I did it! I loved the infusion of East meets West. Started out at the bride’s house and then the groom’s house to pay respect to the parents, delicious tea and lots of lotus seeds and dates soup (symbolizing kids! yes, our parents were making sure we had lots!) There were lots of laughter, hugs, tears and as my photographer said, “full of emotions and she got lots of pictures!” We were surrounded by all the people we cherish starting from the morning. What a great way to kick off the wedding.

I knew right away that I wanted a color palette that was vibrant and fun. What better colors then gold and fuchsia! I have always been a fan of pink and fuchsia is just the vibrant version of pink. Since my husband is a huge USC fan he gets gold, so we ended up with gold and fuchsia. We wanted the wedding to be modern and fun and Westin Pasadena fit perfectly into that. I am always telling my client, incorporate your interest, hobbies, personality into your wedding. You want your guests to arrive and know immediately they are at the right place. So true to my own words.. that is what I did. Its no secret that I love champagne so I had a friend help me collect champagne toppers and boxes. And yes, we helped too by drinking some champagne. If only all wedding tasks were that fun. We succeeded in collecting 170+ champagne toppers and various champagne and wine boxes to help us set the tone for our escort card display. And Kelly loves to play scrabble. I remember at one point in our relationship on date night we wanted to just stay home and play scrabble with each other. I also love anything round. So throughout the wedding, you will find all things CIRCULAR! From ceremony decor to floral vases. The ceremony was simple and adorn with cherry blossom trees. Its one of my favorite plus its good luck for romance. For reception, I went with the warm feel and splashes of champagne bubble on the wall (yes, that champagne thing just keeps surfacing!) The layout is mix of long banquet tables with round tables, white seamless dance floor with the amazing decal splashed on the floor, and of course a cabana lounge set so while some guests are dancing the night away, others can talk the night away.

The candy station was filled with my favorite candies (some from Asia and other for local stores). Candy quotes such as “If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you’re eating it too slowly. ” ~Author Unknown. And of course no wedding is complete without a mojito bar! Throughout the night, we also had a photobooth contest for most original to funniest photos. Kelly is known to be a photobooth lover. Pretty much at all the other weddings we attend, if I can’t find him, he is in the photobooth! For our own wedding, I seriously considered getting two photobooths. One for him and one for the guests. We are both superfans of our respective schools, BU and USC so we made photobooth props to show our love! Ultimately, it was a spectacular wedding. I hope all brides and my clients have as much fun as my husband and I had. The day goes by fast, enjoy every moment!"
